How to solve the cracking problem of Terrazzo
In our daily life, we have seen the cracks of Terrazzo on the ground because in many new projects, the surface construction will be carried out before the concrete ground is completely dry due to the construction period, which leads to the water in the concrete not completely evaporated. In this case, the surface of the terrazzo will certainly increase the risk of cracking. Therefore, reducing excessive moisture in the concrete layer and preventing water transfer to the surface is quite important. If the construction period allows, we suggest that the surface of the concrete should be completely dried before the construction of the grinding stone layer. If not allowed, it is recommended to use anti cracking mortar specifically for grinding stones. This grinding stone special crack resistant mortar has high adhesion, crack resistance, breathability, frost resistance, water resistance, and odorlessness, making it easy and fast to harden in humid environments.
According to the requirements of different Terrazzo surface bases, the mortar at the interface can be adjusted to the gravity flow type and batch scraping type, with a thickness of generally 30 mm -50 mm, so as to better protect the surface of Terrazzo. In addition, if crack resistant mortar is used on the concrete surface, it is necessary to cooperate with PE film and steel wire mesh to gradually form a moisture reduction and crack resistance effect, so that the concrete surface can form a tight protective layer, greatly reducing the transmission of water through the surface.
