Steps for cast-in-place terrazzo
Terrazzo is a common floor material. Do you know the construction steps for cast-in-place terrazzo? Next, the editor will explain to you!
1. Make leveling layer
The leveling layer is made of 1:3 dry hard cement mortar. First, the mortar is spread flat, and then a pressure ruler is used to scrape it flat according to the reinforcing bars. Then, a wooden trowel is used to smooth and compact it.
2. Grid strip inlay
Use pure water slurry to plaster the bottom of the dividing strip into an octagonal full length seat and firmly embed it, and the iron wire threaded through the copper strip should be buried properly. The application height of pure water slurry is 3-5mm lower than that of the dividing strip. The dividing strip should be firmly embedded, the joints should be tight, the top surface should be on the same plane, and its flatness and straightness should be checked through the line.
3. Apply stone slurry surface layer
The mud and gravel slurry must be strictly measured according to the mix ratio. The surface of the stone slurry must undergo at least two times of brushing and sticking with a brush to remove the surface slurry, check the uniformity of the stone particles, and then use an iron trowel to flatten and compact until the slurry overflows. It is required to flatten the ripples and remove the stones on the top surface of the dividing strip.
4. Grinding
Large area construction should be ground using a mechanical stone grinder, while small areas and corners can be ground using a small portable grinder. For local areas where mechanical grinding is not possible, manual grinding can be used.
The above are the construction steps of cast-in-place terrazzo. If you have any more information you would like to know, welcome to consult!
